The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe: Movie Stills, and Book Illustrations

Hey Guys!
So, I was going back and looking at some of the old comments, and saw that Hannah had given me the idea of comparing still shots from the movie, and comparing it with the illustrations from the books. I thought this would be kinda fun, so here goes nothing...

Here is Mr. Tumnus and Lucy walking through the forest to his house. (The Book Illustration...Obviously)

I can't find a still of them actually walking to the house, but this is as best as I can find.
Hmm....Pretty similar....Lucy is wearing a short sleeve blue dress in the drawing, but other than that, it's pretty close.

Here is the cover for one of the books. Cant really compare this scene with anything in the movie...

Here is the Pevensie children falling out of the wardrobe after their adventure in Narnia.
This is actually proving difficult to match scenes up...Well I can tell you right now, that in the movie, Pete has blond hair, not black. Ed has black hair, not blond. And Lucy and Susan never put their hair in braids...The Wardrobe looks a lot awesomer in the movie. (Yes I just said awesomer.)

Here is Edmund and the Witch's dwarf. (I don't remember his name) The dwarf looks a tad friendlier in the illustration.

Here is the witch and her sleigh. Her sleigh is black in the movie. This probably makes it a bit more frightening.
This was kind of interesting. I'll have to do this again some time...

  1. She posts! :-) I love it. :-D I never actually noticed the sleigh difference... it's interesting how subtle differences like that make a subliminal difference. :-)

I also love your recipe!! I want to make that now....My mom sometimes makes it and it is uber good. :-)

And I love your HG review. It was really thougtful, and I just love all your points. I haven't read the books/watched the movie and I don't plan to, but I do enjoy reading your thoughts on it. You can write an awesome review, you know that? :-D

  3. Thanks Hannah!
When I first saw the movie, (The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe) I was very pleased to find that the Illustrations and the movie were pretty close. Of course that depends on whose illustrations you are looking at.
